User Content: We process the URLs you explicitly save using the extension to provide AI-generated summaries and categorization. This includes:
- URLs you save via the extension (right-click or automatic capture)
- Page titles, thumbnails, and content excerpts used for AI processing
- YouTube video transcripts (for generating video summaries)
Account Information: If you create a ReFind account to access the web dashboard, we collect:
- Email address (for authentication)
- A unique user identifier
Usage Data: We collect anonymous usage statistics (e.g., number of links saved, credit usage) to improve the service. This data is not linked to your personal identity.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the core functionality of the extension (summarizing and organizing links)
- To manage your monthly free credit quota
- To sync your saved links to the web dashboard (if you have an account)
- To improve the performance and stability of the extension
- To communicate important updates about the service
3. Data Storage
Your saved links, summaries, and categories are stored locally on your device using Chrome's Local Storage API. If you connect a ReFind account, your data is also synced to our secure cloud database (hosted on Supabase) to enable web dashboard access.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Gemini API: To generate AI summaries. Content is sent to this service solely for summary generation and is not used to train AI models.
- Supabase: For user authentication and cloud data storage (dashboard sync).
- Vercel: For hosting our backend API and web application.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers. Data is only shared with the third-party services listed above, solely to provide core functionality.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted communications (HTTPS), secure authentication tokens, and access controls on our cloud infrastructure.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we have about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your saved links and summaries
- Opt out of cloud sync by not connecting an account
8. Children's Privacy
ReFind is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
